In this industry, serious artists are always wanting their work to be 100% calculated and refined. Every release is planned, every track selected for a project is very intentional etc… That will happen on my ALBUM. (which is being VERY carefully crafted) It did NOT happen on this project. :D “How To Be An MC” has nothing to do with me imparting any knowledge on how to be an MC. (What do I know? I’m still very new to this)…but any good MC will tell you that so much of “the key” is practice. Practice practice practice… A few daes ago I found a producer I liked. His instrumental mixtape was called “How To Be An MC” and so I decided to challenge myself. I picked 10 tracks. I wrote to 4.75 of those tracks that dae. Here are 4 tracks. I PRACTICE messing with my flow, I PRACTICE making serious content something you’d vibe to, I PRACTICE my delivery (something I still need to work on) and I PRACTICE my audio engineering. “How To Be An MC” is about PRACTICE and I’m letting you in on the secret. #DaeDream

Rapid Eye Movement sleep (REM sleep) is the stage during sleep, when one dreams. Adaeze, also referred to as “Dae” adopted the term “DaeDream”, which is much more than a cute play on words. It is a philosophy that dictates that at no point in your waking life, should you not be dreaming. From this philosophy came the term “SleepWalk”, which Adaeze uses to encapsulate the idea of walking in your dreams. Her blog daedreamsleepwalk.tumblr.com was titled after these concepts. For the artist’s debut project, this title is more than appropriate! She’s in that phase in her career where she is developing her dreams. REM.
